JOY TURNER - FOUNDER/CEO
Joy Turner is the CEO and Founder of Behind The Wheel Automotive HR. Joy brings over 20 years of HR Experience spanning over various human capital management functions specializing in Employee Relations, Diversity and Inclusion, Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Legal Risk Management and Policy Development.
For over 15yrs, she has successfully provided significant HR insights to various Automotive Dealers and employees. Joy’s philosophy is that “Human Resources is not a one-size-fits-all solution in the car business”
Her passion is providing HR solutions for her clients by helping them build an HR infrastructure through technology, compliance and the right people.
Joy birthed Behind The Wheel from her personal experience as an Automotive Dealer’s wife and the HR challenges commonly presented in the Dealership environment. She successfully provides significant HR insights to various Automotive Dealers and employees for over 15yrs. Joy’s philosophy is that Human Resources is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It is a dynamic that must be streamlined to meet the unique needs of the Retail Automotive Industry.
Joy holds a BA in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University, MSA in HR from Central Michigan University and an Executive Juris Doctorate from Concord Law School at Purdue University.
Joy is married with three children and resides in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.
NICOLE YOUNG -CO-FOUNDER / STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT, OPS & SUPPORT
Nicole Young is a seasoned HR Executive with over 22+ years’ experience in HR. As Co-founder of Turner and Young LLC, she specializes in HR Strategic Management, Operations and Support.
Prior to joining Joy at Turner and Young, LLC and BTW, LLC, Nicole held a number of HR leadership positions that built and supported HR infrastructure from start-ups to non-profits, to legal firms, technology companies and government contracting.
Nicole earned her M.ED (Master of Education) in Education Leadership & Administration and her B.A in Communications/Public Relations. She holds her SPHR (Senior Professional HR) certification, and certifications in Diversity & Inclusion, Strategic Management and Organizational Development.
JENNIFER LAWSON-HILL / COO
Jennifer Lawson-Hill is a Corporate Marketing and Operations Professional with 20 plus years of experience providing Operational Excellence, Strategic Planning/Sourcing, Procurement, and Supply Management expertise for several Fortune 500 companies. Under Jennifer’s leadership, she has orchestrated multi-million dollar global agreements, which have resulted in the reduction of TCO, improved operational efficiency and negotiated savings in excess of $500 Million dollars.
Jennifer started her career with General Motors and has worked in multiple industries including Aerospace and Defense, Pharmaceuticals. Jennifer earned her MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy in International Business and her BA from Michigan State University in Materials & Logistics Management with a concentration in Purchasing & Operations. She is also Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified.
Jennifer has a track record of successful Operational and Commodity strategy development/implementation, reducing costs streamlining processes and developing high performing teams. Her career has afforded her the opportunity to negotiate and formalize contracts internationally throughout Europe and North America. She has a flair for building team dynamics and transforming businesses and culture through insight and innovation.
Jennifer resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex with her husband Andre and three children. She enjoys reading, biking, mentoring young adults as they prepare for their future and spending time with her family.
